Ellen Selkie, MD, MPH

Principal Investigator (she/her)

Dr. Selkie is the Principal Investigator at the LMFAO lab and an Adolescent Medicine specialist at UW Health Kids. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Council on Communications and Media at the American Academy of Pediatrics. As a pediatrician, Dr. Selkie is passionate about caring for gender and sexual minority youth as well as justice-involved youth. This work inspires and informs her research goal of promoting positive socioemotional development through improving online experiences for young people.


Lydia Bliss

Research Specialist (she/her)

Lydia graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she majored in Psychology and earned certificates in Public Policy and Health Humanities. Before joining the LMFAO Team, Lydia worked at the McBurney Disability Resource Center and interned at NAMI Wisconsin. Lydia is always watching something, whether it be a movie, TV show, or YouTube series. 


Abigail Suleman, MPH

Research Specialist (she/her)

Abigail is a recent graduate from the University of Illinois Chicago where she earned her Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology. She is now committed to advancing equity in sexual, reproductive, and adolescent health by promoting equitable research and participating in storytelling spaces. She spends her extra time taking long walks, learning French and ASL, and reading/watching everything!


Angie Calvin, PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher (she/her)

Angie recently graduated with a PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research interests focus on the risks and opportunities of digital technology and social media use on the social development of adolescents. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading.


Caitlin Calhoun, MSc

Brain, Behavior, and Well-Being Study Coordinator (she/her)

Caitlin coordinates the Brain, Behavior and well-Being research project. Before joining the research team, she coordinated a research grant focused on finding new antibiotics from environmental sources. Her passions include interdisciplinary research and science communication. When not working you will find her out in nature somewhere hiking, or hanging with one of her many animals.


Kylie Boyd, MPH

Research Specialist (she/her)

Kylie graduated from the University of Arizona with her Master of Public Health in One Health and has since worked in university and government settings. She is passionate about research ranging from infectious diseases to human interactions. In her free time, Kylie loves to watch new shows, learn new skills, travel to different places, and hang out with family and friends.
